People! First Anniversary of Volition's closure.

Today, August 31th 2024 is EXACTLY ONE year since Volition got closed.
And also, now dead Mike Watson's Saints Row 2's patch whole work he has spent is probably went gone… 🤧

I'm sure its gone now for sure, sadly we'll have to forget about that piece of unreleased Mike's legacy, as it will never see a light of day

Но свет не полностью пропал, there is though fan mod/patch of SR2 incoming called Reloaded, it won't be a legendary replacer of Patch, but it will surely give a better life for Port

Hey, can we please take a moment to appreciate what IdolNinja did accomplish? Gentlemen Of The Row for a start (which is no small thing), but also his website (which is still accessible) which has a bunch of very useful resources for Modders. And of course as Volition Community Manager, he was a bridge between Volition and us Fans, and was a big part in making those developer streams happen, which are still available to watch. I sadly wasn't around here while Mike was, but his presence is still felt and his work is still greatly appreciated.

The SR2 patch isn't dead. It's just buried deep. It might stay buried for a long time, but you can't say "never" unless (God forbid) the files are destroyed. You never know who might unearth it in the future, and what could be done with it from the state it was left in. After all, think about what we as a community are all about; Modifying old software to make it better. For now though, as Gector says, we do have Juiced Patch and Reloaded, which do look very promising.

RIP Volition.
