I've just started a new game and this happened:

Unistall it through Steam, then make sure that there is no Saints Row the Third folder in "common". Then delete the userdata folder (55230) that I've mentioned before. Reinstall through Steam. It should be clean now.

yes, copy the whole "55230" folder somewhere, like on the desktop.

If the problem ins't in the installation folder, maybe there's something in the userdata folder. Make a backup of the "\55230" folder that you find in the userdata and delete the original. Start a new game and see if that works.

Try to manually remove misc_tables , preload_anim, preload_items, preload_effects, patch_compressed, patch_uncompressed from the cache. Since you're there remove everything from the root folder (except, of course, the folders). And then verify the cache again.

Try to tweak the display.ini, and disable the motion blur through it.

Are you using the steam version of the game? If you verify the integrity of the cache there shouldn't be any problem. Does the game work with a new game?

IdolNinja, is there any way to enable the passenger mode with SR2? I got it to work without any modification but it's really hard to trigger.

Do the same as before: Press Windows + R, then paste this AppData\Local\THQ\Saints Row 2 and delete all those files with a long name (the extension is bbsave)
