I'm interested on what direction the EtD DLC will take especially after this story in which Volition criticised THQ's "porn star" orientated marketing.
Will it be some sort of Carry on Film style sexual farce or something more sophisticated? I'm hoping it's some sort of Forbidden Planet type...
I've found that the size of files that don't have an entry in an asm_pc are hard-coded by the engine i.e. if you change the size of the file strange things happen. Are your interface-backend files the same size as the originals?
I thought Far Cry 3 had a sort of Saints Row 2 vibe to it. You have to upgrade your abilities, collect collectables and slowly take over the map from your enemy. It's more stealth based but you can run and gun if you so wish.
Minimaul have you tried looking in the <base steam install directory>\config\config.vdf for the installation directory of Saints Row?
It's a text file and it contains meta-data for any installed Steam games. The games are listed by their AppId. (The AppId for SRIV is 206420).
Saints Row just fucked up my system screw Volition.
translation: The pirated version of Saints Row just installed a bunch of viruses and fucked up my system. I'm an idiot for trusting the pirates.
I never update Windows. I don't trust Microsoft.
translation: My pirated version of Windows won't...
Do you mean the startup.cpeg_pc / startup.gpeg_pc files in the misc.vpp_pc and startup.vpp_pc archives?
I've tried modifying that file and it causes the game to crash. I've tried both loose files and a repacked startup.vpp_pc archive.
I've attached the dump reports from both crashes. I'm...
It looks like someone of the Xentax forums has had some success decoding the mesh format for Saints Row the Third. Unfortunately the links to the source code give me a 403 error but I did download them ages ago. I'll PM you a link to my copy of the source files. (I don't want to add them to this...
OK this may sound crazy and probably won't work but try creating a blank file called HsSrv.dll in your base Saints Row IV directory. Windows should try to load that version instead of the proper one. (It will probably give an error that hssrv.dll is not a valid image file but clicking on OK...
I've written the command line program to add a texture to a cpeg_pc file. I'm testing it at the moment.
A problem I've come across is that appending most of cpeg_pc files causes the game to crash. The only cpeg file I've managed to get to work is the sr3_city_awld.cpeg_pc file. (Which is fine...
I'd like to see a DLC where you invade and mess up one of Zinyak's own personal relaxation simulations. As Zinyak seems to be narcissistic it would be like the ending of Being John Malkovich where all the NPC's heads are replaced with Zinyak's.
I've noticed in SRTT and SRIV you use 2 different formats for the normal map texture.
You have obviously swizzled the normal vectors and thrown away the z vector (as it can be derived using the Pythagoras' theorem).
Do you use 2 different shaders for each normal map type or do you use the so...
I'm working on a complete rewrite with a GUI interface and the ability to add textures will be part of it. Now that I've completed SRIV I can maybe stop procrastinating and actually finish it.
