alternative to in game Anti-aliasing?

Are there any mods that replace the in game Anti-aliasing? I find that when i enable the games Anti-aliasing even on its lowest setting my frame rate drops from 150 without the Anti-aliasing enabled, down to 40 and some times as low as 10 with it enabled. Is this something that could be fixed wit a mod or patch?
 
If anybody is still interested, I fixed it by setting the Anti-Aliasing with the NVIDIA Control Panel. Not only it looks a lot better but with the Vanilla AA I had more or less 30 FPS, now 150.
