Are you sure that you don't have shitface's weapon rebalance mod installed? I believe that changes trucks to be able to crush cars. It shouldn't do that in an unmodded game.

That truck car crushing thing is a feature of my weapons mod. Do you have it installed?

If you want to disable the heavy vehicle crush thing, just delete every .xtbl file that begins with "truck" in your SR3 folder, except for truck_2dr_fire01_veh- removing this one will mess up the fire truck's weapons.
