Cannot complete final Mission- constant crashing

I am constantly crashing in the last final mission, I've been crashing elsewhere constantly too, but this is more prominent now because the mission is so long. I get to the part where I am escorting CID through the area with the key and the game...crashes. Well not a crash to desktop, it completely freezes and comes up with "Saints Row 4 has stopped working" and like that I have to start ALL OVER AGAIN.

This wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to start over and over, but the fact I've done this part of the mission 8 times now with no end in sight....well it's just killing me inside.

I have tried uninstalling ALL mods I had downloaded, even the workshop ones, and yet nothing I do will save me from this freeze...

Go to Nvidia control panel by right clicking the icon in the taskbar, then manage 3d settings and set ‘Threaded Optimization’ to on."
