So I pre ordered ages ago (feels like forever now) and there was no mention of a "low violence" version when I did this. Now I know my country has some stupid laws regarding game censorship but I never expected this.
Having paid for the game, is it viable to get an American version or the files associated with the full violence version from alternate means...ie direct from Volition or an american friend...No i'm not talking pirates either
I'm 33 I don't need censored games...

Note: I am NOT a lawyer. You'll need to do your own research or seek proper legal advice. This is just a general overview to help you get started.

That depends on which state you live in. In WA or NT, possession of RC content is unlawful. In other states the restrictions vary. Victoria, for instance, prohibits selling or demonstrating RC material, but only makes buying illegal for minors over the age of 10. Possession or distribution (except with the intent to sell or demonstrate) is fine. Look up the laws for your own state.

That said, Volition are not going to give you the uncensored version. They can't sell it to you, and they don't know which state you live in/don't care at that granular a level. As for an American friend, again, it depends where you live. Do note that you reimbursing them for buying the game could be argued to amount to them selling it to you (penalty varies from state to state, but can include imprisonment for a few years and/or fines in the tens of thousands of dollars). Probably not the best idea.
