Crashes during DLC mission "Send in the Clones"

I figured I might try seeking help for this problem here as well as on the official forums, so... here goes.

I recently bought this game for PC due to a recent sale on Steam which brought it down to an agreeable price for me, and I bought some DLC with it. Among those were the mini-campaign DLCs. I also grabbed a few mods from here, namely the ones to disable tutorial messages, the Steelport Gangs fix, and the TOGO-13 mod to give it upgrades. Figured those wouldn't impact much, and they didn't seem to. A few random crashes while running around randomly (which I fully expected), and I went on to complete the Gangstas in Space DLC missions. No problems.

Then I start into the Trouble With Clones DLC and get to this mission (in the topic)... and crash at the same spot repeatedly. Thankfully I can ctrl+alt+del out and bring up the task manager to close the game. System didn't freeze up or anything. I tried this mission like... 5 or 6 times. Each time I crashed in the same event. Said event is the second ambush when the Morningstar jump you with brutes.

When this first happened, I deleted one mod and tried again. I crashed, did the same thing, and tried the mission again. Did that all one more time, then tried verifying the files. Another try at the mission with vanilla SRTT got me the same crash. Verified once more, got the same result. I even noticed that when I verify, the same exact file size is being downloaded each time: 83.0 MB, and it seems to be the executables. I even tried using Direct X 9 instead of 10/11. Same result. I've tried verifying multiple times and it does the same thing.

So... any guess as to what's the problem here? Not quite understanding why I'm crashing on this particular event.

Ok, this might seem silly, but, are you sure it's vanilla when you tested? Just uninstalling the game and redownloading, and verifying the files, does NOT remove any mods. The game doesn't remove them automatically. Check for any asm_pc, xtbl, or str2_pc files in the game root (steam\steamapps\common\saints row the third) and delete them. Also, did any mods involve replacing any vpp_pc files in the packfiles\pc\cache directory (Gentlemen of Steelport is a well-known example)? If so, hopefully you backed up the originals because you'd want to restore them to test.

The most thorough way is actually to uninstall, delete the game directory itself out of steam, and then re-download it all. That'll verify no mods are active. If it's still crashing after that it might be something in your save perhaps about it relying on a mod that's missing or what. The game supposedly is surprisingly stable about that sort of thing but I've never tested, and never had crashes like that before...

No, nothing was replaced. I only used those three specific mods. Not one thing more. I used the readme files included with the mods to figure out what I had to delete. It was vanilla when I tested.

Edit: On a whim I've tried again with no mods, and it seems to have decided it wants to work. I guess now I'm gonna start a process of elimination to see what mod exactly makes it happen. I mean, if one of them is causing a problem I might as well figure out which one so the problem can be fixed, right?

Edit 2: I believe the source of my problem was this mod: http://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/index.php?threads/togo-13-killshot-upgrades.676/

I just tried running the game using: http://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/index.php?threads/steelport-gangs-dlc-fixes.830/

and there was no freeze. I'd try using the no tutorial one again but I don't care enough to actually get rid of them again. x3 So yeah, I think I'll go post in the Killshot Upgrades thread about this little... bug. Though in conclusion... I hate and love computers. God they're such finicky little things.
