Custom Variants

For a while I've be wanted to make custom variants of vehicles, so I'd like for example want to make a black and orange type car and name the variant gang_saints, I want the Saints to drive different colored cars for a change, I've seen picture from Idol before of a Saints Atlasbreaker etc, so how did he do it?

Please tell me, I WANT TO KNOW!
