Game no longer keeps track of or counts Fire Blasts

I was replaying Saints Row IV yesterday (I wanted to check out the new Thank You Pack, but I had to start a new game because the game kept crashing when I loaded any of my saves from previous builds.) I tried to use Fire Blasts on the aliens and found that the game didn't count them like it used to and therefor I couldn't complete the challenge to set 100 aliens on fire. Now I already got the Challenge King achievement and already have completed single player campaign 100% before Volition patched the game for new DLC, but new players will not be able to until Volition fixes this bug.
 
I have confirmed this as well.
