I second this but sadly I bet it won't happen because sr2 modding is pretty much completely dead ,try using sweet fx it changes the colors and lighting and stuff to look different there is actually one that makes the game not look so dulled out and white.If you need any help on how to use it add me on steam I'll show ya and help you and also if you want a coop buddy to play with. 
Someone was making alternate textures. However SR2 doesn't like HD textures or bigger sized ones? So maybe the creator could down scale them as it would still be new textures....

All is known is he made some. Asked if people would like more created then disappeared.... Maybe someone can track him down and let him know we'd like to see more of these.
