Hide HUD mod?

I haven't been able to find a mod that hides the HUD on a button press. This would be great as I love taking screenshots of games, but HUDS ruin them.

Thank you :)

You actually have two options!

The Rare Vehicles Cheat mod adds quite a few extended cheats like "nohud" that turns off the hud. The open version of the mod completely turns off save flagging, so it's safe to use without disabling achievements.

Sandbox+ also includes a command (8+SEMICOLON) that toggles the hud on and off so you can do that in realtime while playing.

Oh wow, thanks a lot! :)

Is there anything that freezes the screen? To be able to get nice positioning?

Your best bet is probably the clip editor. It allows you to capture video and then manipulate the camera. You could then freeze the frame and get whatever angle you were looking for.

I think the last released version in that thread is quite out of date though and won't work with the latest official patch. I would suggest using the Gentlemen of Steelport compilation. It includes both versions of the clip editor, and I've kept it updated so that it builds all the necessary asm files dynamically to be compatible. GoS is completely modular so you can simply select just that clip editor mod if that's the only thing you want. You can always find the latest release on my site in the Downloads section:

I never thought of taking screenshots this way, it's much better. Thanks IdolNinja :D

Hmm, I'm having a problem. I'm using the Clip Editor that was included in GoS, and captured a video with no issues at all. However, I can't find a way to edit the actual video. The main menu of the game isn't showing me the option to edit any clips at all...

Are you using the DX10/11 option? I believe that the clip editor stuff is auto disabled with DX9.

Yes, I use the DX10/11 option everytime. Weird. Where is the option supposed to be in the main menu?

Sorry, but that's as much as I know. I've never used it myself and just going by the instructions in the original thread.
