OK, so i found this weapons at FF and LP, are they usable for weapon costumes ?
do tell , how do you know that is a part of world geometry ?They're a part of the world's geometry... I doubt they're usable.
They're a part of the world's geometry
Welllll yes.... and no. They are part of the world geometry but if you look in the zone packfiles (which I have) you will see that the world geometry is just a collection of smaller individual geometries bundled together. For instance, looking in SR4's sr3_city_0.vpp_pc\m_00.str2_pc\ reveals things like
Using a hex editor to look at LMESH files revealed that they are very similar in format to CMESH files used for the NPCs and Items. So with some work someone may be able to replace an existing weapon with one of those pictured above.
- weapon_assaultrifle_b.clmesh_pc/glmesh_pc
- weapon_assaultrifle_b~l1.clmesh_pc/glmesh_pc
- weapon_assaultrifle_b~l2.clmesh_pc/glmesh_pc
Nice. I got a lot of experience with blender but max is just way too expensive for your average joe. I'm really looking forward to these tools. The actual mesh data for our meshes will be very similar if not identical at a certain level. Levels meshes are missing some of the things that you would want with a weapon though such as animations. Once we release the weapon sdk it should be very possible to take a model from max/blender to game and then it is just a matter of getting the lmesh into that tool and making the proper edits to add the animations.
