This is not a mod request since I am not asking anyone to do anything and this is rather more of a pondering for future of the SDK (plus I plan on doing this myself once the SDK is out), but feel free and encouraged to voice your ideas, that's pretty much what this post is for.
In past saints row's vehicles were a necessity. They made travel faster, shielded you from enemy fire, provide escape, and gave you the ability to do drive by shootings. However SR4 makes these useless (with the exception of no super power missions) since the player can take more damage than a car (which can't be healed and blows up insta killing the player), powers and more powerful weapons can't be used in a vehicle, the player can run faster than any vehicle, vehicles are more easily stuck than the player, and they are cannon fodder for TK users.
Ideas to fix this?
-nitrous lasts as long as the player holds the button or make it toggle and it goes faster
-Rim jobs could allow turret, battering rams, shields, and plowing tools attachments
-allow the player to use their own guns, maybe through a special turret on the car?
-blast powers could have a large radial blast aound the car. Stomp could be a vehicle ram.
-The car could transform like a vtol, except it would be car controls to helicopter
-cars could have their own powers: energy sheilds, grow armor plating, disguise to lose noteriety, temporarily turn into a tank, grow/shrink, spawn tiny car clones (these could blow up, make mayhem, etc.), teleport
-finally, vehicles could transform into a nimbler version of the mech, enhancing player powers, adding extra effects to player weapons, and giving the player a temporary armor or damage resistance. This one is my favorite idea, even though it sounds like the most work, but I think it would be more easily integrated and the best way to fix vehicle liability.
