Over two years ago we set out to turn Just Cause 2 into a multiplayer game. During the course of the two months we spent working on JC2-MP, we were met with many obstacles - which at the time felt impossible to conquer.

For the last month we've been working in secret to achieve those goals, with great success. Over the coming months, our aim is to polish the current build to a state that can be released to the public. Contrary to popular conspiracies, we were not shut down by Avalanche Studios. Nor did we intentionally delete our source code to inhibit further growth. The source at the time was extremely unstable and volatile. However this time around, we have squashed all obstacles encountered thus far.

A functional website and forums will be restored in the coming days. For now, and will be our main source of information. Besides tweeting and commenting on our Youtube videos, you can also chat with us on #jc2-mp on irc.freenode.net

You know, I remember when they finally showed just why they intended to skip a lot of the early code and start over when modding GTA:SA... blue, suddenly went from that dual player barely synchronized mess, to something a bit better but buggy as sin... to Multi Theft Auto that used the game's engine itself to make something akin to a new game. The sort of thing that GTA4's multiplayer is a pale shadow of.

I'm wondering if they can pull off some of the amazing stuff here too. Hell, even getting what looks like 16 player multiplayer action (not just vehicles, but on foot too) is amazing. Next step, if they can manage it handle all the jacking/hooking of the game for everyone without desynchs.. I'll have to get JC2 for that :D
 
its really fun in single player alone, this....well...this will just be beyond sick....grapple to another players heli and throw them out lol

If this mod ever gets peds & traffic (I asked someone on the mod's forum, and they said no, though I hope he meant not in an early release) and they somehow make it so you could (lol>>>) grapple other players (with some restriction, of course, like maybe the victim rapidly presses a button to pull out the grapple, for example), along with maybe fixing the black market for the mod, then the mod would be amazing.
