Just want to be able to edit my weapons

I remember when I edited Saints row 2 there was a weapon.xtbl. I found it on Saints row the third but every change I made is not working ingame. I changed the "magnum" in Wordpad. It had no effect on any weapon.
And after I've done editing where do I put the .xtbl file?
Any suggestions?

It's supposed to go into the game's base directory, that is, where the sr3 .exe files are.

I just edited the wrong weapon. Thats it.

The magnum isn't part of the game to my knowledge. Therefore editing it won't have any effect.
