Major bug: Game crashes

whenever i try to play the game, somewhere in the first mission(random times) the game will make my whole system crash and so I cant even play the game. need this fixed asap
 
Did you verify your game files on steam? Could you post some information about your system? Can you post the event information from windows related to the crash as described here.
 
yes, I bought the game through steam and my system isn't making event info or mini dumps for some reason.
System specs are: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1, Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.10GHz, 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 RAM @ 798MHz (9-9-9-24), Alienware 046MHW motherboard, Palit Nvidia GTX580 3GB, 2x1TB HDD in RAID 0 (game stored on this) and a 60GB SSD for the OS (windows 7 home prem 64bit
 
Hadley, follow these steps to verify your game files on Steam:
  1. Open up your Steam Library
  2. Find "Saints Row IV" and right-click on it.
  3. Click Properties from the menu that pops up.
  4. Click on the "Local Files" tab.
  5. Click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" button.
  6. Wait for the process to finish.
This will verify something did not get corrupted during the initial install of your game.
 
That means it verified your files and they should all be up to snuff.
Try running the game again and see if you're still crashing.
