Mod Idea: Custom Homies!

I have always wanted to have complete customization over what my homies instead of just choosing if there punk or look like ninjas. I hope one day we would be able to put them in Image As designed and pick there clothes in Plant Saints (Zin). I am not a mod author and I have no idea even how to start creating mods so i hope someone else could take my idea! :D
 
I don't really see that happening in the near future. And if it will happen, only for people having high-spec gaming PCs having most limits disabled. Volition did the "characters being one mesh with textures" thing for a reason. And that reason is simply to save memory. The protagonist is a mesh taking a lot of memory + clothes taking even more memory. If all peds would be like this I would imagine the game completely exploding, because there are also cars with meshes taking memory, and all those meshes have textures, which also take memory.
