Most recent update, deleted saves

So I just downloaded the most recent update for SRIV, I'm writing this on 5/4/15. After the update installed, I found that all my saves were absent. Now I'm not stressed about getting them back too badly, but I'm curious. has any one else encountered this?
 
That was one of my initial thoughts. While I don't believe I'm smart enough in that regard to asses what the problem is, it seems like a safe guess to me. I also noticed that the game simply says "Saints Row IV", rather than the modding branch suffix it had before. If I've been cut loose from the beta, that's a bummer, but it's no big deal.

Check in your game properties and see if mod_beta_patch is still in the list? I don't think that they *can* actually drop people individually from the beta.

If you're back on the main build, then yes, you won't be able to use the saves. The format changed for the modding patch. That's why this is in the stuff you have to read and PM to me:

If you can't switch back to the modding patch, then restore the saves you backed up.

Alright! Worked like a charm. All my saves are back and in-tact. Many thanks! Just for curiosity's sake, any idea as to what I might have done to cause this?
