Need help to restore notoriety

Hi @ all,

sorry to bother you, it might be simple but can't find any hints about it

i've installed GOS in the loose mode, and I think i've chosen the 'no notoriety' thing when all the cheats and mods were presented in the installation process.

Now, even if I choose add notoriety for cops or gangs via cheats on the phone menu or with the E+keys (installed SRTT Sandbox+ too) there's no way, of course, to keep the notoriety level up.

Is there any way to ger rid of the 'no notoriety' mod without deleting all the GOS file and reinstalling it?

Please, be aware that I'm totally noob about HEX editing and advanced modding, beyond a simple text editing (I think can do that ;) )

Thanks a lot in advance for any help!

Simple fast answer.

Uninstall the entire pack then reinstall without picking the 'no notoriety" bit.

Loose mode I think mostly is xtbls anyway and all those are not binary (hex), just simple ascii files.
I dont' know which xtbl is the one that include the bit on the notoriety alterations so can't be of great specific help there.

GOS kit is pretty painless , I use it here too but chose the compile method, either one works fine though.

I'd just go the KISS method and get back into the game (Keep it Simple Stupid).

The one caveat, if you use the GOS batch file that removes all mods in clean up, I think it will remove any other xtbl mods you might have snuck
in alongside of the loose install of GOS.

If you are in doubt always keep a copy of the loose pack in a separate directory so you can match file names later and just delete em manually from
the game directory.

I mix n match here a lot and learned to keep zip archives of a happy working mod situation in case I screw up later with a new mod attempt.
(you'll learn which files you need to archive dont' need to archive the entire game tree)
(not sure what the 'no notoriety ' mod is good for really. haha. /shrug.

Oh, I suggest just using the cheat that adds and removes notoriety as I discovered the same 'problem' here some months ago.
I use it here to quickly add some hate if I want to start a free form fight with some faction.

Hi Uzi

Thanks for the hints :)

I was hoping there was a way just to handpick 'that' bit without deleting all the loose mods (GOS and No-GOS I've installed alongside) 'cause I've found
a good playable balance and I'm worried I will end messing everything up!

Regarding the 'no notoriety' mod, you're right, now i don't really find any use of it, but when I installed the GOS, I was new to SR:TT and it seemed a good
thing to have and it helped me to complete some activities ;) (I'm not a skilled gamer..)

Anyway, will follow your suggestion if nothing more specific comes up.

Cheers!

You can just delete the two notoriety files in your srtt root:
notoriety.xtbl
notoriety_levels.xtbl

Just that easy!
