No more "Heart-Stoppers"

Does anyone else have problems with a very specific Super-Beatdown not killing targets? I am talking about the one where you stick your hand through the chest. I call it Heart-Stopper (seemed approriate :p). It is such a shame to have this awesome set of finisher moves and have one that doesn't work properly. If I didn't know better, I'd say that Volition's way of saying "Fuck You!" to the players.

Can anyone remove it if it's possible?

No, it's definitely a broken animation. Sometimes it kills. Sometimes it doesn't. And that is if the target is human. If it's Zin, its chances of killing outright is even less. One might say during the animation character slightly misses the heart but why even put it there if it's not gonna kill. I mean the point of super-powered beatdowns is that they have 100% chance of killing the target. Even without any investment into melee skill or namely, Super Strength. For one of the animations not to share that affinity and the fact that you can control it is a put-off. Because I really like beatdowns, super-powered or otherwise.

I also calculated that perhaps the exact number of hits delivered is related to the fatality of the move. Because you'll notice most SPBs are multi-hit combos. There are only two that are single hit, if I recall. One is Heart-Stopper (I mentioned in the OP), the other is where character grabs the target by the ankles, spins and throws, I call this one Wheelhouse. The latter is always deadly without fail. The former isn't.

I can't say I saw this happen when I played, which leads to my questions: is your computer below the minimum specs for the game, or does this usually happen when the framerate is running low?
Hmm... Now that you mention it, it is actually. The reason why it's running is the software. It can't be a framerate issue. The other single hit finisher I mentioned works just fine. All super-beatdowns except Heart-Stopper works fine. If it really were a framerate issue, I would have problems with all finishers, with single hit ones at least. On that note, Heart-Stopper does cause damage but it's often non-lethal.

Well, not necessarily; it could be that the one animation is, for some reason, performance-dependent. There's a mission in the game in which you have to fly through doors before they close. It's notorious for giving people trouble on low-spec systems because the doors close before they get there.

But it's just a guess on my part that this could be a factor. I don't think I've seen this issue on the forum before. The fact that it still does damage, but not enough, is kind of bizarre.
