NPC clothing?

Hey guys,

I recently installed SR3 again, because I found out you can mod it (permanent temporary weapons <3)
And I did a quick Google search to see if someone had made it possible to wear the NPC clothing (which is like a bazillion times better than what the player gets the wear... Whoever at Volition screwed that up should be ashamed), and I came across a thread where IdolNinja said he was working on something like that. Sadly the link he posted goes to a 404 page and the search on this forum isn't really helping me either.

Anybody got a working link, or did this project die?

First, there are "Mod request" forum. Second, read this.
IdolNinja said:
Do NOT request npc clothing for the player. In SRTT, an npc's body and clothes are all one big mesh, and thus can not be worn by the player. Period. Yes, we know SR2 didn't work like that. We also understand that there are seemingly wearable npc clothing like the Nyteblade outfit, but these are actually unique items created by Volition to be used by the player.

I wasn't requesting a mod per se, I was just wondering if IdolNinja succeeded in what he was working on.
Judging from that post, he didn't, and I'm a sad panda.

Volition, feelt he shame of creating such fugly player content.

Ah, OK. I just read title and I didn't read content correctly. Actually, you can go to that thread. And, Sandbox+ allows to change protagonist to Cyrus. ;)

We knew quite early on that npc clothing was one big mesh along with the npc body, and definitely not wearable by the player. Within a couple of weeks of release for sure.

I had once the idea back then to switch clothes with npc bodies and just obscure the whole player body, just through custimization_items.xtbl ... something I never started on and will never start on either, because I don't think it'd actually work. If it was that easy it would've been done before.

No, actually that works. Well, kind of. I think the Gat body was one that worked and everything else spaz'd out and looked weird.

Awesome that about the gat body, too bad about the rest. :)

EDIT: You really tested it on all of the npc meshes? o.o
