SRTT Player Sex and NPC Reactions

The prevailing theory here about this is that there are no gender-specific player reaction lines in the game and what you are hearing is a ped talking about another ped. Still waiting on Sleem to chime in and confirm, but that is most likely what is happening.

I can verify that it is directed at the player and not at another npc. It's usually a rival gang member making comments when you taunt/compliment or aggro them or hold them hostage.

If you change the sex of your character at Image as Designed, I've noticed that sometimes NPCs will react to the player character as if they were still the other sex. Example: NPCs you pass on the street will say lines to a male character as if they were female. What's up with that?
SR2 does this too.

To better track this issue is there any way we can get a video of it? Is there a youtube or fraps or something so we can find out more about it?

Aaaaah. This issue came up shortly after SR3 came out as well. I just found the thread.

Long and short:
  • There's a number of line situations where NPCs will react to female NPCs. This was adding to the original confusion.
  • Once that was squared away, there were still a number of lines referring to the player as a "bitch"
    • The response I got from the writers was that these are unisex responses. Humor intended, confusion entails.
  • A few fringe instances still occur where homies will call the player "baby" with the same humorous intent.
I used National_Guard_HM as a test subject and found a number of lines using "miss" or "ma'am" that seemed generic but the line situation name referred to observing a passing female NPC, so if those are playing when there's no one else around that's probably an indication of a similar core issue with the ambient dialogue system.

This kinda sucks and is weird, but at least there's no lines that are so direct as to say "Hello player character, you are a female" to an obviously male player or anything.

I'm syncing up a couple enemy gang personas now to go through the lines and see if there's anything outside of these criteria that could be more direct than calling the player a "bitch" which is apparently just supposed to be a joke. If I could get the faction and gender of an offending NPC that'd narrow down the search quite a bit.
