Possible to extract map files?

Ive never messed with any Saints Row modding tools so Im asking if its possible to extract the entire map of stilwater or steelport hopefully as an obj and where would i start?

Extracting the entire map of Stilwater or Steelport from Saints Row games as an OBJ file can be a highly complex and challenging task. It involves reverse engineering proprietary game files and may not be straightforward. Starting such a project would require modding expertise, familiarity with the specific game engine, and potentially encountering legal and ethical considerations.

To attempt extracting a game map like Stilwater or Steelport, you would generally need:

  1. Modding Tools: You'd require modding tools or utilities designed for the specific game. These tools may vary depending on the game's engine and file formats.
  2. Understanding File Formats: Familiarize yourself with the game's file formats, especially those related to the map and 3D models. You'd need to know how to access and manipulate these files.
  3. Reverse Engineering: In many cases, extracting game assets involves reverse engineering proprietary formats. This can be a complex and time-consuming process, and it may not always be legal.
  4. Legal Considerations: Ensure that your modding activities comply with the game's terms of service and any relevant copyright laws. Modding should be done for personal use or within the boundaries defined by the game's developers.
  5. Community and Resources: Join modding communities and forums related to Saints Row or the game's engine. Experienced modders can provide guidance and share their knowledge.
  6. Backup: Always make backups of the game files you're working with. Modding can sometimes result in unintended consequences, and having backups ensures you can restore the game to its original state.
  7. Patience and Learning: Modding can be a steep learning curve, especially if you're new to it. Be patient, take your time to learn, and don't be discouraged by initial challenges.
