Salty Saint's SR2 Vehicle Overhaul v2

Hey Saints,

I reworked the handling of almost every vehicle, including some planes and helicopters. I tried to make the vehicles more fun to drive while being "slightly" more realistic. This was also configured with controllers in mind. Apart from the overall handling changes I removed all of the angular dampening so vehicles can flip realistically, while also adding the ability to control the vehicle's movement in the air like in SR IV. Cars also have stronger springs so you are more likely to drive away smoothly after completing a stunt jump instead of landing at a complete stop.

I increased the health of all vehicles so they last a lot longer including making the police vehicles slightly stronger so they feel more "Armored" and make the Police feel a little more unique when compared to gang vehicles.

*This has been made with my own changes to weapons which may or may not impact the final product.* Please let me know if the vehicles are too armored for the base game or not. They should take a while to blow up but not like 2 shots from a shotgun.

Install Instructions:
Place the files from the Zip in your 1-MODDERS_-_PUT_YOUR_OWN_PERSONAL_MODS_HERE
Use "Create_Custom_GoTR.bat" and build your patch.
Move "Patch.vpp_pc" to your SR2 directory.

Hey, is there a way to like allow some cars to have customization options that normally it wouldn't have? Like giving the wheel width and size option to the Hammerhead
 
Btw I tried out your mod, you've somehow broke Rim Jobs, I get softlocked everytime I try to modify my car, and the menu wouldn't show up, the options for Performance and Body were jammed up together and I can't do anything

While the author would actually know the reason why I suspect this mod was made with SuperUI installed, therefore it all breaks when it's not installed, not a jab at the author just a dependency should be listed.

There are a bunch of unnecessary files included in this mod for some reason (eg: "GML1_Vehicles.xtbl" actually has nothing to do with vehicles). Many of the unnecessary files are taken directly from GotR. With the exception of "vehicle_cust.lua", which is taken directly from SuperUI (which likely will have caused the issue mentioned above).

The only files required for this mod are those ending in "_veh.xtbl".

This is still an excellent vehicle handling mod from Salty though (confusing file inclusions aside).

it's a dam good mod but I hope to see an update, super-cars feel very weak (due to bad handling and slow acceleration) and there's problems like the phoenix having no engine sound.

Only so much can be done. The Top Speed of all Vehicles is hard-code capped to 100. Because of this, vehicles tend to only have three or four gears (I guess this is why vehicles have no gears in SRTT onwards). Handling's awkward too. Removing the Angular Dampening also affects how the car behaves on the ground, making the car overresponsive and less grippy. That change has to be counter-balanced through changes to suspension and tire grip levels. It's not as simple as increasing a hypothetical "Acceleration" or "Handling" slider, unfortunately.

This might be an issue with @ItsIggy 's Console Audio mod. I've encountered the same thing.
