So, at the end of Act One, Earth gets nuked with Viola, Josh, Oleg, Angel, Zimos? (Haven't played EtD but I know he's on the roster, would someone who has please clarify whether or not he survived, or if EtD is even canon or just a really convoluted director's commentary?) and anyone else I've missed supposedly still on it, but we aren't actually focused on *them* when the planet explodes, so we have to assume they died. We also know that the Saints (assuming the good ending is the canon one, like in TT) get time travel after defeating Zinyak, and have a good romp with it if you payed attention to the artwork in the credits. My question is, why don't the Saints use this to go back in time right before Earth goes bang to save them? This wouldn't interfere with the existing plotline as we never actually saw them die, and the Saints would naturally assume they died in the explosion like we (the players) did, and thus not create a plothole with the tension that the deaths of these homies caused. It wouldn't be possible to save all of humanity without creating plotholes as you'd see 1,000,000,000 ships storm the planet right at that moment, and if the Boss really is a true psychopath they probably don't care. It would be a neat and tidy way to retcon the deaths, like Gat's was, and bring back some characters the SR4 playerbase will recognize (assuming a large chunk only played SR3 prior, as I did when I initially played the game, recently picked up SR 2 in the DS sale week) for the Saints Save X-Mas. Like a big happy family holiday reunion. Kind of.
This is also considering exclusively story limitations, not development issues like getting the voice actors, or already having too much of the story (or development, potentially) done to work in the old homies.
Also, woo first thread Haven't posted much yet, but I've been lurking for a while now.
