Srtt stuck at load screenshut on desktop while laptop works

The game is working fine on my laptop. However, when same mods were installed on the desktop the game began crashing(lose sound and continues to rotate background) at the continue load. I copied the entire srtt folder from the laptop and replaced it on my desktop yet still will not work. Any ideas?

Are you using the legal Steam version on your desktop? Most of the mods here will not work correctly with anything but.

Yes both versions are legal...i went out of town and added more mods onto the laptop. Then repeated on my main today.

btw...you have the best mod site i have been on

Can you load the exe (not save game) and make it to options or is it dying before that?

If so, screw around in graphic options maybe reset things , could be some ini file hang over from your laptop....
For that matter, zap display.ini and make steam snag a new one however I think the game generates a new one anyways.

I'm wondering why you don't just have Steam install on your desktop anyway. Then just copy over the needed mod files.

However if it is only crashing when trying to load a save or when 'continuing' that almost always means a mod conflict, it has in my
situation. Other than the copy being legal or not, that most likely is the cause. You might have missed something. A directory maybe ?
Not having write privileges to that directory for the user account you are using mayhaps?

Copying the folder from the laptop and overwriting what was in the folder on the desktop would not delete the files that were on the desktop version but not on the laptop version. Delete the desktop SR3 folder and then copy from the laptop.
