The games keeps freezing on me

Today I was in the mood to replay Sr3, so I installed it and started a new game.
It's unplayable, it keeps freezing (but I can hear the audio just fine)
I've finished it years ago with a less powerful GPU (but with the same CPU) without any problem.

I even tried this:

I'm playing it on a GTX960 4gb, an i5 2500 3.8ghz and 12gb of ram

Any solution to this problem?

At least once for minute, even if I stand still. It may be a fragmentation problem, since that partition is almost full and I've installed/uninstalled different games recently. I'm gonna try with a defrag, thanks for reminding me.


edit. It does happen even in the main menu, so it's not only an ingame thing. before the defrag I'm gonna try some older nvidia drivers, maybe the problem is there

I've found the solution....


it was the firewall, I usually block all unnecessary outgoing connections. I've disabled it just for a try and the game worked fine!
