This Saints Row I Mission is KILLING me!

OK, so I've played all the games in Saints Row save for the very first one. I wanted to amend that, so I got the game and was doing fairly well until this one mission where you have to hop onto a roof and wait for an important Los Carneles VIP to show up so you can take him out.

My problem? I take him out and everyone hauls out their rocket launches and start pounding the crap out of me. I can't seem to aim well enough to take them out, hurry fast enough without a rocket killing me. I tried on the ground to get better aim, but I get slaughtered even faster. How did you all get past this mission?

Also, as an aside, there's a mission for The Rollerz (I believe) where you have to pretend to be the valet of one of the head honchos and flee from your own team who tries to kill you. Putting aside the question of why Julius didn't just TELL the Saints you were undercover, how do I beat them without killing them as the quest tells me not to do?

Advice? Thoughts? I'd really love to be able to beat this game as well. I've beaten all the others so far.

I stayed on the roof, and just tried to stay away from the edge as much as possible. Each time you get hit, stand back immediately and either eat some food or wait for your health to recharge to 100%. Then try again. If you stand back far enough, they will stop shooting missiles. Then step forward and try to aim at one of them very quickly and then step back again, but don't change your aim. Once they stop shooting missiles, step forward again quickly and take a shot using the aim you had already established. No matter what, don't stay near the edge for more than a brief instant -- long enough to take maybe one or two shots at most (or to just adjust your aim). The shooters generally stay close to the same place.

Drive very fast! Lots of missions do take some luck.

Expect to repeat some missions MANY times. This game takes a lot of patience. I played some missions 30 times before I could complete them, and I really hated the long drive at the beginning of many missions which I had to repeat OVER and OVER. I think it took me almost 40 hours to finish the game -- longer than any other Saints Row game (and I finished all of them).

P.S. Not to discourage you, but a word of warning -- the last mission of each gang is really hard! But it's worth the effort to really experience the full story of the Saints. I just finsihed it this week, and I have a real sense of accomplishment! And if you haven't played the secret mission in Saints Row 2, do that after you finish Saints Row 1.

My cure for rocket whores in certain missions was to go to Friendly fire before starting the mission and buy a McManus sniper rifle then get back as far as they can't see you then take them out with a good old fashion headshot!

Yes, you absolutely need the McManus for this mission. Sorry -- I was thinking the mission automatically provided that rifle for the mission.
 
I'm stuck on vice kings all the kings men when I'm going to the vice kings penthouse cops destroy kings car also when I was in the entrance the car blew up

My car blew up several times too, but that's not the worse problem. There's a bug in that mission too. I got to the vice kings penthouse, and the game told me to take the elevator to the penthouse. As soon as I got out of the car to take the elevator, it said MISSION FAILED because I got out of the car! But it had just TOLD me to get out of the car!!! This happened two times before it actually worked correctly.

Just keep trying and don't give up!
