Unable to install mods

In every mod it writes to drop files to root direcotry but of i do that it douesnt work. then i found this:

Well, there are different things to do depending on whether you decided to pick the clean "patch" style installation, or the "dirty" installation. If you picked the patch style, go to your SRTT folder (in steam/steamapps/common/) and navigate to .../saints row the third/packfiles/pc/cache/ and rename the files "patch_compressed.vpp_pc" and "patch_uncompressed.vpp_pc" so you can revert to the vanilla game just in case. Then drag the files into the cache folder, and voila.

i removed those patch files and dropped mod files there but it still doesnt works! help!
 
This method you're talking about is only for the Gentlemen of Steelport mod pack, and only if you use the method to create patch files. So, the first question is, are you using GoS and how did you build the files? Also, are you using the Steam version of SRTT?
 
no im not using gos, i didnt built that files, i got them installed already (about that patch files) and im using steam version
 
So, you're using mods you downloaded from some other place, and you want us to help you troubleshoot them? If you have patch files instead of a collection of loose mod files and are not using GoS then it's not from this forum. How are we supposed to troubleshoot some random strange download?
 
You'll need to talk to the original author where you downloaded it from. This isn't anything we can help you with here.
