Vulture & Condor Question

Does anyone know if the Vulture and Condor are hard-coded in the game to not allow them to be obtainable through normal means? For instance the Vulture (Saints Version) is not given in the game and the Condor has to be stolen.

I tried to add both as a replacement for the yarnball homie, but I can not get any NPC to actually land them. They either blow up or will land and then lift off again repeatedly. I have successfully added choppers that are in the game normally, like any version of the Eagle, Thompson, Tornado, ect. but can not get the Condor and Vulture to work.

Any ideas?

I don't think it's related to spawning as the saints tornado doesn't spawn in the world and that works fine.

I also increased the vehicle damage limit of the two which causes them not to ignite, but instead they continually land and take off. I am also able to then use the RC gun to land them, but that's the only way they won't blow up. Not sure what the issue could be other then there is something set that doesn't allow them to be given to NPC's.
 
Maybe try changing the F69 VTOL homie one to Condor. This would make more sense as Yarnie homie may work just the same as the tank one...
 
I don't think I tried switching the condor with the Vtol Homie, but I did try the Vulture with the Heli homie and that also didn't work.
I guess I could change the variant to 'saints' in the unlockables.xtbl file to get it as a reward (instead of the normal version) but I would like it to be used by my homies instead of having to go to my garage to obtain it.
 
Isn't the vulture the attack chopper? (One of the two that is, heli_fighter_01 and heli_fighter_02, I mix them up)
If so, it's actually one of them that HAS a saints variant, and therefore can be used for the gang vehicle spawns set by gang customization (which by the way work ASSUMING a saints variant exists, it ignores the <variant> tag, but always spawns using the default variant. Don't know why).

If you do so... they spawn on the road, and then just sit there. As noted, the AI doesn't really fly choppers, although I',m not sure how the attack ones are handled. Special AI for just them? On the plus side, then you can find them occasionally parked in Saints areas, trying vainly to fly forward, then hop in and steal it. Works fine.
Of course, as noted the gangs are dumb and can't fly them, I think the gang spawning AI assumes a ground vehicle, and there's no way to change it, just like it assumes a saints variant. Hardcoded somewhere. It's probably similar in reverse for the vtol backup which assumes vtol or what.
