The idea I keep throwing around here and elsewhere is Saints Five, a game that parodies heist movies (Fast Five, hence the naming scheme) and games (GTA5, obviously). You play as a rookie member of a heist team as you prepare to hit three different companies. The story takes place after SR4 in which the Saints go back in time and stop the Zin invasion from happening, saving the Earth. This allows for a suite of futuristic weaponry reverse engineered from Zin tech, as well as power armor allowing for superpowers.

No, haven't written much fan fiction. Was working on one of all the saints row games, from 1 through 3 (Didn't get past 1 yet) using my main character and going with that story I cooked up in the SR5 forum about some sort of reboot. I only call the main character Ava, but was thinking about making some general name so everyone can use their own character in that story. It would only be a female character. She's a 17 year old street racer who got into a gunfight and almost got shot. She joined the Saints because she believes they can make a difference. It's a more down to earth story, less over the top and more reading like a thriller. It's mostly a lot of close quarters combat inside, but also gunfights outside, and you follow how Ava turns from this average rebel teen streetracer into a respected shooter, but set up at the end by Julius, who thinks Ava is a sociopath and to dangerous (due to false information provided by someone, because the way I write it, Ava isn't that much a sociopath) and blows her up. She was close to the edge of the boat though, and was thrown into the water, but not dead. Having a new major scar on her face though. She wakes up in the prison and is pretty angry about her betrayal, so she busts out and hearing that all her hard work was for nothing since other gangs took over Stillwater, Ava decides to take the fight to them again, hearing how many innocent people are getting robbed, killed and terrorrised. She saves Johnny Gat and they start their takeover. This time Ava is struggling with things like: If she's going to far with this, can she do this, how is this right, she used to be just a racer and having a normal life, now she is making her own gang. But she keeps seeing the saints as guardians rather than gangsters. Of course there are situations where the Saints act out of line, and Ava deals with that, trying rather to have a mafia, not a gang. And in 3, I would try to fill in the MANY gaps of the story.
