Alt + Tab now crash my game...

Hi there, I recently reset my computer (format and re-install everything, so Windows 8) and put back my SR4 from the Steam backup. But now here goes the problem, the game Crash when I do an Alt + Tab when it's on fullscreen. Dunno why it starts to do that suddenly, the only workaround I found was playing in a window, then do pause and move the mouse outside of the window to the desktop and now it works. I also noticed that the game now lag (like it's doing a tiny pause every 2-3 seconds) breaking the rhythm. I know my game wasn't perfect before but it was way more enjoyable and altplustabbable before... Do you have any idea what could do that ? I tried to lower the spec of the graphics, even in low, it does the lag (low is as fast as maximum lol)

Thanks in advance if anyone got an idea !

Same shit happened with me but with SR2.Since I have moved from XP to 7 I realised that alt tabbing crashes the game and I found that if I alt tabbed while on the pause screen such as map it wouldn't crash. You could try the same thing on 8 but I don't guarantee that it will work.

Sadly I was in Windows 8 before and I had a kind of ... forced update to Windows 8.1 (I hated this version) So I had to format to have Windows 8 back but suddenly, sh*t happen and I got that strange behaviors. I managed to play Dominatrix perfectly last time, no problem nothing... (before the format AND under windows 8 of course) So my computer really isn't a problem here, will try to fix it with compatibility mode just to know, thanks ! If someone got any idea, it would be more than welcome here !

Most Windows 8 problems with SR4 are the result of having an outdated video driver. Try updating to the latest.

I will try to update the drivers then but I think I did that already... Maybe an older driver would work better, I use to use an old driver for my card mobile 460Gtx, so maybe the drivers isn't that good with my config =T Will see if there's an update, thanks again !

Wait a second. Did you reinstall the game, or just drag and drop it from your back up? If you haven't yet, I'd strongly suggest redownloading/reinstalling the game from scratch and then moving your save games back over. Lotta files can get corrupted when restoring an entire program from back up.

Thanks tonicmole, I'll try the drivers then the whole game, sadly I have a very low internet connection plus I didn't had my computer at home so it's decently hard to try right now =T I can do a file check on the whole game (It does exist no, can't remember ha ah ah)
