Car tuning - adding new components.

Yesterday I came with the idea to dedicate more cars to the police... well, seems nice, but, the only problem is that I need to add the police lights, and give the dedicated cars new painter areas.
The cars that I wanted to give the cops were the Infuego, Justice, Attrazione, Criminal, Kayak, Quasar, and the Thorogood.
The first problem is that the added slot and component doesn't get loaded, not even if I add it in the "Grime" slots of the Infuego.
So... is there any different way possible at this time to do those things succesfully?

When you say the component doesn't get loaded, are you referring to the police lights or the paint-able areas? I think the police lights are part of the actual vehicle model. As for paint colors, I have no idea.

Every slot with its stuff (bumpers, roofs, exhausts, also the police lights) are components. Those lights shouldn't be part of the actual vehicle model, that would be just stupid from Volition to do.

Alright then. What file(s) did you modify to load these components? Also, what do you mean by "it doesn't load". Like the option doesn't appear in the 'Grime' menu?

car_4dr_luxury06_cust.xtbl
The customization script (all components and slots) for the infuego.
I add them in the xtbl file, but they just never appear in the menu of all the parts you can select for your car...

I see what you mean. I tried doing the same thing (but for the Hammerhead), and it didn't work either. So I tried the reverse, by removing the 'Lights' mod from the Peacemaker (car_4dr_police02_cust), and it didn't remove the option in-game. It feels like the game's not even load the .xbtl's

I guess it really doesn't... so I need to find a different way to make Saints Row Hot Pursuit :D

I guess we can try looking under 'vehicle_cust_interface.xbtl" and 'vehicle_cust_slots.xbtl'. If you're familiar with mrturkleton's Extended Customization mod, he *somehow* managed to enable hidden customization options such as the grime of removal of turrets on the N-Forcer. The mod only included vehicle_cust_color_sets.xbtl, vehicle_cust_interface.xbtl, vehicle_cust_slots.xbtl, and a bunch of .str2_pc files. Assuming my logic is correct, our solution may lie in those files. But then again, those customization option were already there, hidden. He just enabled them, while we're trying to add new ones.

I'm familiar with most of the mods on this site, well, mixed up with others then^^
I still don't quite see what those grime options do...
I maybe can at least release buggy additional painter colors (actual saints purple, morningstar black, decker black, lucha black... yes... those are 3 diff colors... stag orange, black and white, military brown and swat blue, and the metal paints, all in matte except for gang paints)

The grime options are the dirt that appears on the windshield and body of the car. They only appear on cars that "naturally" spawn (parked, traffic). I haven't seen them on notoriety vehicles.

EDIT: I looked through some of the .str2_pc files, and inside were all .ccar, .cefet, .cpeg, .cvtf, .gcar, .gefct, and .gpeg files. I know .cpeg and .gpeg contain textures (maybe for decals?), the rest I don't know. I doubt it's of use.
