Change Colour of Any Clothes / suits / outfits

Bumping this, I'd like some input. Is this sort of thing even possible? I mean, I imagine it is, but I also imagine it to be complicated to do it for all unchangeable outfits. Like the OP, I want to be able to change the colors of the Iron Saint outfit to suit my own needs, rather than the (extremely well done) mods that people have made, of which I personally use the red and gold version, since the purple one was...weird looking to me, and the black one just screamed "too freaking cool."

Is it doable? If so, what would one have to do?
