SR2 Changing the "Style" of the "Style"

In Saints Row 2, you can change the texture of some weapons, clothes and such, so I was wondering, where do you keep your "style" files and how to you do them? With a texture file as well?

I'm not sure what you're asking here. Are you asking how to change the texture of weapons and things in SR3/4?

Not SR3, I've already said I'm talking about SR2. I'm asking here because I don't think the third-party knows it well.

What I'm saying is that we know how to change a texture in SR2, using "Pegtool".
Now, there's an option in Saints Row 2 for clothes, that is "Style". For example, the wifebeater can be "Clean" or "Dirty", those are its styles.

So, I'm wondering, how are/were the "Styles" made and if I can, how can I modify them?

I don't know how that was done in SR2. Maybe someone else can help here.

My initial assumption is the style was likely a material and/or an entirely different mesh substitution. That's mostly how "ways of wear" worked. The one item that had many variations be it materials or meshes.

There were some Styles that only changed the pattern of a suit or so, and there were some styles that changed the appearance (Open, buttoned, Tucked, etc).

I think you're right, but I still don't know where they're located and I do want to know where they're located, perhaps you know where?

I was digging around with someone who worked on this stuff and while both of our memories of SR2 stuff is hazy, it seems that all the customization stuff is in the cmesh_essentials packfile. I would check there.

I'm pretty sure that that packfile exists, but it might only exist on consoles. I would assume the data would just be in the cmesh packfile if not split off like that.

I think I found it, it does use a "cmesh" format but there's no "cmesh_essentials". Other than that, I don't think this format is used by any modelling tool at all, don't think there's a converter either.

I resay, there is obviously no converter.

I might be doing something wrong, but thanks for the attempted help anyway. (Better that than none)
