Do SR3 and SR4 also have the "everyone drives similar cars to yours" GTA series syndrome?

I'm talking about this syndrome in the GTA series of games (quoting posts from various GTA forums):

Car Spawn Glitch
I know the game has a temporary memory for vehicles - so the car that you're driving around in spawns more frequently. This is often exploited (by me, for instance) to "duplicate" rare cars such as the Infernus or the Sultan RS.

This has been an 'issue', per say, in the GTA franchise since at least GTA III. The game spawns the same car or similar cars to the one you are driving to ease the memory and smooth out the gameplay.

traffic uses the same car as the player
why is it that 90% of the traffic drives the same car as the player does? if youre driving a truck, everyone seems to drive a truck. if youre in a sportscar, everyone seems to have a sportscar. this is one of the things that i dont like about gta. its neither realistic nor fun in my opinion. whats the reason for this?

GTA: Why is it that when you're in a certain car you see lots of that same car?
i think for some reason it cuts down on the graphic processing to help the game run smoother. it really pisses me off when im in a minivan and theres nothing but other minivans and slow ass cars cruisin around

yeah I always remember when you had to collect all the cars and when you'd finally find the car you needed, millions would appear.
I always assumed it was something to do with the info for the car you're in getting brought to the surface of the randomizer, if you know what I mean.
I know nothing about programming so I may be miles off, but I remember seeing this guy with a mod on a game, and every object he interacted with, he had a little window up that showed the data files for those specific objects, so when he would interact with something it would come to the top of the list.
So I always assumed, GTA has a list of cars in a randomizer, but the one you're in goes to the top of the list, and therefore appears more often at that time.

Where can I get an Infernus?
Find a limo or another car in the same Class as the inferno and drive around. This usually causes them to spawn for often.

The better cars you crive the better cars everyone drives, for example i once got my infernus cleaned on the way back i saw 3 infernus's parked it again and didn't see another one after that

Does GTA V have the "everyone drives the same vehicle you drive" Syndrome?
In GTA IV, you would be lucky to find an Infernus driving around on the street, but once you got into it, everyone else was suddenly driving an Infernus too, and it looked like you were in a cheap and common car. Does this still happen in GTA V?

yes, SR3 and 4 are pretty bad about that. It's really bad when I'm searching for a certain vehicle for an hour, finally find it, then feel like shit as the streets are filled with the vehicle because it is now loaded into the memory.

the same applies to pedestrians as well. It's especially noticeable with shitface's NPC Behavior mods, since that allows crazier stuff like tigers and question marks to spawn

This came up in the forums before, I can't remember where but someone pointed this out, and one of the Vs noted that it's a memory trick. Simply, when you're spawning traffic, each car type has to be loaded in memory. There's a limit to the memory you can use for this (as the memory pool is doing everything at once, remember) so you do what you can to squeeze out every bit of memory extra. In turn when the player gets into a car, that car HAS to be loaded in memory, since the player is using it. It stays in memory too after they exit it, in case they want to hop back in, eventually getting unloaded whenever the car is removed from the game world.
Since this car is loaded, you might as well use that. Load as many additional cars as you can sure, but the one car is SURE to be loaded (and you want to spawn cars quicker since the player is going to be moving faster in a vehicle, and thus you want to reduce overhead loading/unloading variants randomly). In turn, the car the player is in is sure to appear, and more than that sure to appear more, because it's on hand by the fact that they're in it.

It's kind of sad, but it is inevitable. The alternative is running super-speed on foot, which I think loads the cars less frequently (it seems that way, but I admit I don't do much comparisons in SR4 since really.. "Cars? Pfffft, I've got superspeed!"

On the plus side, next-gen consoles will give more memory space to load more variants at a time hopefully so we'll see this being dented a bit. I'm kind of curious how GTA:O handles it.. do they just have less cars in general to load at once, since they'd have to load a lot more car types thanks to players being able to have anything from golf carts to tanks?

Back in GTA IV online, there was a narrow array of vehicles spawning in the streets, around 15 types in total maybe. The rest was either unavailable or spawning in one hidden place.
Since I don't have GTA V nor a console to play it (hell no), I can't answer this particular question.

If I remember correctly back in my Xbox sr1/2 days when trying to do certain activities that required me to find a certain car there were guides on the Internet showing certain cars that people used to find other cars. I can't confirm that it is a fact but it certainly seems that once a car is loaded into the memory that it has a significantly higher spawn rate.

Anyone know which forum post is this from? (And could you link to it?) Also, if there are discussion about this topic from other Saints Row forums, please link them. I am interested on reading more about this. I can't seem to find much info about this when googling.
