So. I have Saints Row IV: Re-Elected for the PC. (GoG are assholes and automatically, irrevocably "upgraded" me from the Game of the Century edition I previously owned through them. Whole different rant there, though, and not germane to this post.)
My current issue concerns the final cutscene after beating Zinyak in the final confrontation. In both editions, there's a severe and rather silly visual glitch - when the Boss rips Zinyak's head off, a copy of it remains anchored to their hand throughout the entirety of the final cutscenes. The throne, the dance party, all of it. It completely spoils the cutscenes, and having beaten GotC three times and RE twice (I love the gameplay, don't @ me)... I've never seen the unglitched cutscene. It's happened all five playthroughs.
So far, I've tried:
- Playing it through both before and after the "upgrade" from GotC to RE.
- Uninstalling it, backing up my saves and deleting the folder, reinstalling RE, and playing the ending again.
- Uninstalling it, deleting everything, and playing through completely from scratch.
I'm at a loss. I'm using no mods, playing a legitimate copy from GoG, and haven't been able to find anything but a few posts about the Steam workshop version and one thread on here about a pirated copy, none of which apply to me. Is there a fan patch, or an update I'm missing, or something of the sort, to fix the cutscene glitch and see the Boss do their thing without Zinyak continuing to steal the scene? It's worse than listening to him sing over Biz Markie.
EDIT: After doing a bit of homework, it appears that GoG Galaxy does indeed have the rollback version for Game of the Century edition. Anyone using GoG Galaxy will want to go to Manage Installation > Configure... > Installation tab > Show more versions > choose the "20170523" version for Game of the Century. Cutscene glitch aside, I might go on a modding spree now. <3 (Would still love to fix the ending cutscene issue, though.)
