Welcome to Stilwater Women's Correctional Facility!

Did you ever find it strange starting a new game as a female boss, only to wake up from a coma inside a male prison?
Did you ever find it odd busting Laura out of jail whilst male prisoners riot?
This mod was built to address these incongruencies, and make the game more lore friendly while playing as a female boss!

OVERVIEW:

During the development of Saint's Row 2, the prison was intended to be for both male and female prisoners. This is confirmed in-game by Jane Valderama in the "Early Parole" cutscene, when she refers to the line of prisoners as "men and women".
The game shipped with only male prisoners, but female prisoners were left unused in the files. They were evidently cut late into development, as everything is there (including voice lines), except some colour information was incorrect.
This mod fixes the female prisoner NPCs and swaps them with the vanilla game's male prisoners. Various other changes have been made throughout the game to maintain lore.

For example; You may be thinking "But what about Carlos? How did he find his way into a women's only prison at the start of the game?".
In the female prison timeline, Carlos sneaks in as a security camera repair man. Since Carlos never specifically mentions getting himself arrested at any time in his dialog, his new disguise is (technically) lore friendly!

CHANGES:
MODELS:
• npc_prisoner has been replaced with npc_prisoner_female (cut content).
- Cut voice lines have been restored!
- All prison action nodes work correctly. (They will lift weights, play harmonica, etc.)
- The cut models originally had unfinished colour information, like bright green hair. This has been fixed.
- Prisoner heights now range from 5'4" to 6'0".
• Only female prison guards will spawn inside prison grounds. (Male guards can still spawn elsewhere on the island.)
- This mod is entirely compatible with NOVA SPE's cop variations. (No changes have been made to npc_cop.xtbl or npc_cop.cvtf.)
• Carlos' prison outfit has been changed to a Video Repair outfit.

MISSIONS:
• Cutscenes involving prisoners have been changed to show female prisoners. These are: "VACATION'S OVER" (TSSP-INTRO2), and "EARLY PAROLE" (BRO08-01)
• "FILE IN THE CAKE" (ss02):.
- Low-poly Prisoners have been upgraded to regular Female Prisoners. (A Low Performance option is also included which uses the female low-poly prisoners.)
- Only female prison guards are found inside the prison, while outside they are more common. (You may also spot a couple of familiar faces while entering the prison!).
• "JAIL BAIT" (bh08):
- All Brotherhood NPCs on the buses and boats are now female Brotherhood members. (Not an overtly noticable change, but it's there if you look for it.) (Changing these to prisoners prevented Brotherhood notoriety from being gained.)
- The opening cutscene ("EARLY PAROLE") had issues with the orientation of two of the prison buses in the PC version of Saint's Row 2. This has been fixed to look as close to the console version as possible.

ACTIVITIES:
• PRISON FIGHT CLUB:
- Prison Fighters have been replaced with Female Prisoners. The cut voices work here also.
- Crowd as been upgraded from low-poly prisoners to Female Prisoners. (A Low Performance option is also included which uses the female low-poly prisoners.)

EXTRA:
• This mod also provides optional prison uniform variations, including Scrubs. (There are 7 colour variations for Jumpsuits and 7 for Scrubs, all inspired by real world US prison uniforms.)
- Scrubs use an altered npc_nurse. As these replace prisoners, these will not affect the regular npc_nurse in any way.
- Cut voices, action nodes, cutscenes, missions, activities and everything else will work just as they do with the regular female prisoner, whichever variation you choose. (Provided you installed ALL the Essential Files first.)
• Laura also has matching Jumpsuit colour variations. She won't look out of place, whichever prisoner variation you choose!
• The player's prison outfit in the opening mission can also be changed to match whichever prison outfit you choose. (*May cause issues with Wardrobe. See "Issues" below.)

FPO_Jumpsuit Comparison.png

Cut Female Prisoners have been restored to the game in place of the Male Prisoners! Multiple Jumpsuit colour options are available!

FPO_Scrubs Comparison.png

Prisoners can also wear Scrubs! (These use a modified and renamed npc_Nurse. The original npc_Nurse is not affected in any way.)

FPO_Player_OpeningMissionOutfits.png

The Boss's Prison Uniform can be changed to match the other Female Prisoners. (Please see; ISSUES below.)

FPO_Laura_JumpsuitVariations.png

Laura's outfit can also be colour matched to whichever Prison Uniform you choose!

FPO_Carlos_VideoRepairOutfit.png

Carlos now sneaks his way into the Prison as a Security Camera Repair Man!

FPO_FightClubPrison.png

Prison Fight Club now uses Female Prisoners. (The cut Voices work here also.)

FPO_PrisonRiot.png

Female Prisoners will now riot in "File In The Cake".

FPO_EarlyParoleBusesFix.png

This mod features a specialized version of my "Early Parole" Buses Fix, which replaces the Male Prisoners with Female Prisoners.

ISSUES:

PLAYER OUTFITS:
• Issue: If you have previously installed a mod which adds more outfits to the wardrobe (such as NOVA SPE's additional outfits), any time you try to preview one of those outfits which used to exist, the game will now crash.
• Fix: Reinstall the previously installed additional outfits mod, delete the saved outfits from your wardrobe and save your game, reinstall Female Prison Overhaul.

INSTALLATION: (Gentlemen Of The Row is REQUIRED for this mod to work.)

1. Highlight all files inside the main "1. ESSENTIAL FILES" folder, and COPY them.
2. PASTE all files into "Gentlemen_of_the_Row_Saints_Row_2_Super_Mod_v1.9.2\optional_mod_stuff\1-MODDERS_-_PUT_YOUR_OWN_PERSONAL_MODS_HERE".
3. COPY any other files you wish to install from the folders found in "2. OPTIONAL FILES".
4. PASTE into "Gentlemen_of_the_Row_Saints_Row_2_Super_Mod_v1.9.2\optional_mod_stuff\1-MODDERS_-_PUT_YOUR_OWN_PERSONAL_MODS_HERE".
5. Rebuild your Gentlemen Of The Row custom patch by double-clicking "Create_Custom_GotR_v1.9.2.bat" and following the instructions.
6. Move the newly created contents of "MY_CUSTOM_PATCH" into your Saints Row 2 root folder (Where SR2_pc.exe is located.).
7. Launch Saint's Row 2 and start a new game to get the full experience!

INSTALLING ALTERNATE PRISON UNIFORMS:

1. Install all files from the corresponding Uniform's "0. ESSENTIAL FILES (...)" first.
2. Install all files from any colour folder (ie: "1. Orange"). You can switch between a Uniform's colour options without having to reinstall the Uniform's Essential Files.
3. If you decide to switch from Jumpsuits to Scrubs (or vice versa), you MUST install the corresponding "0.ESSENTIAL FILES (...)" first, before installing a colour!

M2M COMPATIBILITY PATCH INSTALLATION:

1. Download "FPO - M2M Compatibility Patch.zip".
2. Unzip it inside of your "Female Prison Overhaul" folder.
3. All Alternate Uniforms should now have an "M2M Compatible" folder, containing compatible versions of customization_outfits.xtbl.
4. Install the file alongside your Female Prison Overhaul installation.

UNINSTALLER:

WARNING: NEVER blindly run a .bat file you downloaded from the internet! This batch file is safe, but don't take my word for it. Open it in Notepad first, and make sure it won't delete anything from your system you don't want it to.

1. Place "UNINSTALLER (Female Prison Overhaul).bat" into your GotR "1-MODDERS_-_PUT_YOUR_OWN_PERSONAL_MODS_HERE" folder and run it.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Once finished, move it back into your Female Prison Overhaul "Uninstaller" folder.

Wow ok, This looks cool, cant wait to try it out, good work;)

REQUEST: I've been making some Texture mods for the game but haven't got time to do different things for the game. So I wanted to ask if it would be possible to re - Design The Arena (fight Club 1) With female fighters and change the interior and location where the fight happens. for example the fight club now takes place in one of the saints crib with female NPC fighters, that would be cool.

AMAZING!
This inconsistency is probably the fist thing someone playing a female Boss notices, but my au🅱ism misses a lot of society's fine details like that.
As someone that exclusively plays female characters, I'm forever thankful.

I do have to ask though: does this persist into freeroam? I've already beaten this mission.

I've never changed the location for an Activity before, but I'd imagine it's quite involved, what with moving all the Navpoints for fighters and props, etc.. I have plans to try something similar with Demo Derby sometime in the future.

There are a few ways to change the NPCs which are used in Fight Club.
The way I'd recommend doing it is editing each npc_Fighter00_pre.xtbl (01 to 12) by changing the NPC in "<character>". (eg: if you wanted Maero in fight club, you'd change it to "<character>npc_Maero</character>").
There may be other parameters you'll need to change too. You can find the Table Description for NPC Presets in character_presets_complete.xtbl.

Update: Here's that Demo Derby mod I mentioned: Demo Derby (Ultor Dome)

Yep! Whenever you visit the prison island, female prisoners will spawn in whichever uniform you installed, and only female prison guards will spawn inside the prison grounds!

One thing I always hated was how there was no "Canonization" Mission in SR2. It was so fun proving my worth to the Saints in SR1, I was kinda hoping we'd get to reverse the roles and be the one to canonize the new Saints in SR2, but instead all we get is a quick glance of Gat canonizing a few Saints before the main rally.

It would be so cool if an Activity set of Fight Club could be set up at Saints HQ. Levels 1 to 3 would have generic Saints, levels 4 & 5 would have a mix of Generic Saints and Bodyguard Saints, and Level 6 would have 2 Generic Saints, 1 Bodyguard Saint, Shaundi, Pierce, and Luz.

Gat is an original Saint and requires no Canonizing, and Carlos dies during the campaign so it wouldn't make sense to have him appear in an activity that can be played even after his death.

I've already had a play around with the intention of doing exactly this!
So far I have managed to successfully relocate fight club to the Saint's HQ. The problem I've encountered is that there seems to be a Killzone outside of the Fight Club ring (Both Prison and Arena), which means relocating the fighters will kill them as soon as a round starts. I haven't found any reference to the Killzone in the files to disable/move/resize it, though.

Mmm...Could be something doing that in the Arena.xtbl file somewhere?

There is no "Arena.xtbl".

The files which control Fight Club are:
act_al_navs.cts:
This determines the location of the centre of the Fight Club ring. Since all the fighters spawn in a circle around it (they don't need individual navpoints), they will also spawn around this navpoint. This file controls both Arena and Prison Fight Clubs.
fight_ar.cts/fight_pr.cts:
Navpoints for the crowd.
fight_ar.xtbl/fight_pr.xtbl:
Controls the difficulty of each level (toughness of fighters, etc.). You'd think you'd find something about a Killzone in here but I haven't.
"<Arena_Radius>" just controls how far from the centre of the ring the fighters will spawn.
