the war on both franchise is just dumb, SRIV and GTA V is two very different games. SRIV is not trying to be serious or anything, they just give you everything you could possibly see in the game, you drove a tank and they give the tank, you fly a UFO they give you a UFO and best of all when you die they dont take away all your weapons (hated that back in GTA VC). While what Rockstar did for GTA is more like they want you to experience life in the world they created for you with their set of realism-ish ideas, each garage could only store 1 car and expensive ammo (not sure about the newer ones but GTA VC ones are expensive). What Volition did for SR is more like inviting you to come to the world they created and cause mayhem to it with their goofy weapon like dubstep gun in SRIV.
In conclusion, both games are really different and seem to be attracting different type of people. Compaing GTA to SR is like comparing Mario Kart to rFactor, they may be in the same genre but they are aim at different type of people.
*GTA VC is the first and last GTA game I played, when GTA SA release my PC is too weak and GTA IV runs terribly on my current PC. Part of the reason why I dont really give a crap to all the GTA V hype last time.
I believe they go with the same reason many developers say, PC has a high piracy rate and it is not profitable (while GTA IV + shit port is still selling very well on PC).
I do love companies that support their modding community or those that willing to bring their games to PC even though PC piracy rate is pretty damn high but with stuff like Steam and digital distribution, those games will keep selling after 10 years of release.
