Help with cutscene freezing

I just have absolutely no idea where else to post this. Nobody on Steam can help me. They've tried but none of the basic troubleshooting fixes anything. I've googled, and no one else seems to have the problem.

The Penetrator is invisible in Whored Mode. No idea if it's the same in the main game.

The Weird Science mission can't be done because as soon as I ride up to it, and the screen goes black to start a cutscene... well, no cutscene, the game remains black and does nothing. I thought maybe it was the DLC, i'll deal with it later. Now it's doing it again, after the cutscene where Boss is in a chopper overlooking a Morningstar penthouse before presumably raiding it and stealing it from them for a base of operations.

Yes i've tried verifying. I have not reinstalled yet, because I'm leaving it as a last resort, because that will take for-fucking-ever. It'd suck especially when I reinstall only to have the problem persist, because I have NEVER had a problem that was solved by reinstalling and never had an issue that was solved so easily, that'd be asking for too much and I don't have that sort of luck.

Does anyone have a clue..?
 
And sorry about the random Penetrator complaint. I figured might as well toss in whatever problems I'm having.
 
Are you running in windowed mode or full-screen?

Try switching it and see if that helps at all.

I tried both actually, that didn't work.

Also I'm sorry, should I list my specs or installed mods? I don't have many installed but I figure why not.
 
Yes, listing what mods you have installed would definitely be helpful.
Also, since you said you tried running the verify files option, I can safely assume you're running a fully legal steam version of the game.

If you try removing all of the mods and run just straight "Vanilla" SRTT w/DLC, does it still fail?
 
Absolutely not a supporter of pirating, but I digress.

My mods are:

Car Handling
Character Customizer
Extended Taunts
Porno And Murder ( Yeah yeah, I like tits, don't judge me. )
Removed Hair and Clothing Restrictions
Shitface Showcase
Weapons Overhaul
Aaaand a mod simple listed as "melee", sorry. If I remember right, it makes melee not so powerful so fighting is actually enjoyable, since I can fight without one-hitting these losers.

Once I figure out how to uninstall these, i'll report back.
 
Well holy balls.

Deleting everything in the main folder ( except for the Directx, packfiles and videos folder ) fixed the Weird Science mission. It actually makes it past the black screen now. I would assume the other mission is fixed. Assuming that's right, then I guess one of my mods is doing this! Hopefully not ALL of them...
 
Ah, i'm also a moron. Couple of those mods are included in the Shitface Showcase anyway.

Sorry to keep rambling here, but this sorta helps me sort things out, to keep thinking "out loud" while putting words down. I also appreciate the help, Arglaar, with my silly problem.
 
Thinking out loud is fine.
Double/Triple posting is usually frowned upon. :)

Try using the edit button.

Glad you figured out it was a mod causing it.
Just try reinstalling them one by one to see which is breaking it.

It's probably a conflict with one of the ASM_PC file causing the issue.
 
I'm going to be more careful with mods from now on, that's for sure.
