How do I remove Acid Ammo from the SMG?

I have been trying to remove the Acid Ammo from my SMG, but I cant seem to get it to work. I have been using this guide, but there is not even an <upgrade> tag in either the Unlockables.xtbl and the Weapon_Upgrades.xtbl. Can anyone help me?
 
for toggling weapon upgrades, use weapon_upgrades.xtbl and look for the <weapon_upgrade>...</weapon_upgrade> section containing the upgrade you want to disable.
