how to install mods?

im very new to mods and im not sure if i need a program or if i just drop them to a specific folder. If u would be so kind to say what folder or program i would greatly appreciate it thx.
 
Each mods comes with a "read me" file with instructions on how to install it, but most of the time you just drop files in the Saints Row IV root folder ( then one with the "Saints row IV.exe" inside)
 
The root folder means the top-level folder of the program.
In SRIV it is <Your Steam Install Folder>\Steamapps\common\Saints Row IV\
It's the same location where you'll find the SaintsRowIV.exe executable.

I see a folder called "mods" in my SRIV root directory so why does that folder exist?
 
hello good afternoon, I would like you to help me with something, it happens that normally one with subscribe to an object of the workshop installs the mod and already, as in the case of starbound, or other games, but in the SR4 the opposite happens, I subscribe and the mods do not appear to me, even downloading them from the web, I install them in the corresponding folders and as I have seen it on the internet, but nothing happens, does anyone know how to fix that or what can I do?

You must buy Saints Row IV via Steam and when you subscribe mods in the workshop, make sure that your SRIV is not running, it will automatically download the files and then you can launch SRIV and enjoy the mods.

that's the detail, I have the steam sr4 installed, and when I subscribed to the mods I was not running the game, and even with all that I can not visualize the mods and I could not find their location to move them to another folder

The mods gets installed automatically in a separate folder of their own which is outside of your SRIV dir so you won't find them there but it's probably in steamapps folder but you don't need to move anything. Make sure you subscribe and the download is completed, also read the mod information if there's something.
