MGS: The Phantom Pain- Discussion

I'm considering buying it but the last MGS I have played was on GameBoy Color... Do you think I will be able to get into this one?

You can't really compare Ghost Babel to something as grand as Metal Gear Solid 5.

Mind you, it is a good game, yes. However, the 3D games are much more entertaining and generally enticing. Starting out on Ghost Babel (let alone staying there) doesn't really open much of a spectrum. Arguably, it could be an extension to the MSX releases , since Ghost Babel's on an alternate timeline seven years after the first Metal Gear game, but the MSX/GB games play much differently than the 3D games.

By the way, did you already solved the Venom Snake mystery?

I've also played Metal Gear (Before it was solid) on N.E.S.
Jesus... tell me you haven't -only- played Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel.
I'm not some huge fanboy of the series, I know the timeline, but do I really need to buy all the damn games in the series?

Sorry for using the forums like a normal human being. Your complaint has been filed, noted, and forgotten.

And I don't know of this "Venom Snake" mystery you're talking about.

1 can be emulated, 2 can be yarr'd for PC (albeit with a few graphical inconsistensies, but the PC port was never any good). I heartily recommend the MGS HD collection since you get two iconic masterpieces and a bonus game continuing Big Boss' story. 4 is alright, provided you can stomach how the only good acts are the first two - and fourth if you don't get pissed off by the robots.

Honestly, you don't know what you've been missing out by not diving into the 3D series. Just, for the love of fuck, DON'T get the GC remake of 1.
