SRTT (Or SRIV)Is map editing possible? Or ill it ever be?

Somebody mentioned using Kickstarter for this in another thread. What do you think of that idea, Knobby?
Personally, I'm not really a fan of that idea. I just don't see money motivating the people we need for the amount of time we need them if they have to do it on the weekends. We need very specific people who have expertise in very specific areas and just as a wag I would estimate it would take 12 guys about 4 months.

I think Deep Silver has no other option then to fund this expansion into providing mod tools. They have to give gamers a reason to choose Saints Row over GTA, Dead Island over the 100 thousand other zombie games, and Metro over Dead Space. They can't out spend the competition so they have to come down and convince us one on one. If Deepsilver doesn't invest in it's new community, then in two years we'll be playing SR 5 developed by Ubisoft Volition.

Without tools we'll be your customers. Give us tools and we'll become a devoted Deepsilver Volition army. Kinda like the Kiss Army, but without the face paint. Knobby knows this, (Knobby knows everything) but us fans need the "powers that be" to know this. The Volition guys that work on the weekends to get us tools are forever kings in my book, but they shouldn't have to do this for free....in my opinion.....which is really the most important opinion.....because I'm really smart.

That's fair enough :), was just something i was wondering about, if it's hassle then its hassle innit; I just appreciate that modding will be officially supported, cheeers! :)

Well to be fair, who would pick Dead Space over Metro anyways?

The millions who admittedly already did. Well, except Dead Space 3, but Metro Last Light isn't really doing any better.

Back on Topic please.

Since the SDK will be coming out, why not give the end user the information as to how and what tools/software used to produce said maps. I can almost guarantee some users would be more than willing to create the solution if given enough information. After all nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

If it takes 12 guys 4 months with funding, I would imagine 150 modders and script kiddies could get it done in 2 for free... maybe...

I could imagine compiling being a nightmare though.
