I'm glad it works for you :) You're welcome. I'll post this as a mod at some point, as a I figure others coming from PS3 may want the same.

By the way, you can disable the auto aim using IdolNinja's Gentlemen of Steelport. I'd recommend using the mod pack's core options plus your own choices, it adds a lot of great stuff, but if you want, you can download it and just copy the aim_assist.xtbl from it to your SR:TT folder. (aim_assist.xtbl is located in Gentlemen of Steelport folder > optional_mod_stuff > misc_tables.vpp_pc > no_autoaim)

Strangely enough I think the timed button press things are still connected to the reverse triggers.

instead of pressing L1 and R1 to do them, you have to press L2 and R2.

Like the QTEs? I can't find any videos on Youtube specifically for PS3 during a QTE, but can you check on your PS3 copy and confirm if they're still tied to L2/R2 rather than L1/R1? I've looked at a few files and it seems like they don't have exceptions for PS3 QTE inputs. But I may just not be looking in the right place lol
 
It just says LT and RT (left trigger and right trigger), but it is an extension of the attacks, used when you hit the punch secondary attack(L1, now), so it would probably be the two primary attack buttons(L1 and R1, now).

I do think it feels weird, the other way, because you have to switch to other buttons.

The speed up in the action, and the green activation flash don't seem to happen, unless i hit L2 and R2, (instead of R1 and L1).

Is there anyway to change it?

Unfortunately, I'm not sure where to change that :\ I may have overlooked it, but I've only found the script where the game makes an exception to show R1 and L1 on PS3, but not where it's actually remapped to accept those as the input.

Along with changing the buttons to actually display as PS3, this is a mystery to me. Unlike the former which seems to be impossible in SR:TT as well (Link), I feel like this has to be something I'm just overlooking, but I've searched for any tables and scripts pertaining to "control," "PS3," "QTE," "button" and so on. I'll continue to poke around but I can't promise anything. Hopefully it's possible to change, since that would make this mod that much more authentic.

It's not a major part, but it would make the game feel cooler.

Hey, not sure if you're still around the forums, AxlRocks, but i just thought of something...

The new Gat Out of Hell standalone is probably not going to work with your mod!

I'm sure I'll be fine without it, but if you ever decide to make another mod, let me know!

lol wow, I JUST logged in and seen this thread brought back up. Yeah, it'll probably need redone for GOOH, and I still need to post this one and SR:TT's on the mod subforums. Things came up and I was unable to do so back then.

We'll just have to wait and see how quickly the tools can be updated for GOOH, if need be, and then I'll do a PS3 layout for it too.

I tried playing it and it seems to fit saint's Row 4 pretty close, but still weird without what i'm used to.
