it also says that the game is already open so" thats why i cant be loaded after AMD logo" it sounded to me like if just half of the game was downloaded by steam....

Update:ACTUALLY the game runs if you press to play it on his steam page http://store.steampowered.com/app/206420/'

Update 2: no, it just worked 1 time, i´m a fool because when the game worked I should have set the configurations

Update 3: the game worked again and when i set the configurations of my pc and put on fullscreen the game crashed again and a message saying "....completing installation 1%..." and then it says something about the servers are full and unable blah and i cant play the fuck

i will need to destroy my pc or download a crack to be able to play (and also get banned as a pirate) because if the Freeweekend version dont work so the game dont work and i will never be able to play saints row IV

Nothing changed with any of the files for the game at all, so something has likely happened on your end.

Check the stickied Troubleshooting FAQ on the Steam community:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/206420/discussions/0/846965705311116184/

Make sure to try all steps listed in both the Basic Troubleshooting section, as well as the "app is already running" section.

If you're still having problems, a couple of things that aren't in the FAQ yet that we're working on adding:
* Don't run the game on an external hard drive. Make sure it's installed on an internal drive
* Don't have Japanese set as the default language in IME

SO they said:

  • Some users have reported that this issue is fixed by running in windowed mode instead of fullscreen. This setting can be changed outside of the game in display.ini located in your Saints Row IV install folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Saints Row IV\display.ini

    Open display.ini in notepad and change the value for Fullscreen to false (it should be the 4th option at the top of the file) :
    Fullscreen = false

BUT:

there are no options in my Display.ini:

# Display options.
# This file is rewritten whenever options are changed in the menu.

# Everything will be auto-detected on first execution.
# Change the performance preset to a number between 1 and 5
# to over-ride auto-detection.
Preset = 1

I get the same crash. The main menu gets loaded and then the game crashes immediately. It happened only after the last patch. I could run the game without any issues before. I have no mods installed and verified the game files.

Stupid me! :mad: I forgot I had mods in my "Mods" folder. :p

Hmmm......I'm getting same thing, however I haven't played SR 4 in a while. Ran fine last I played so might have been an update. I know it was updated at least once since last I played. Updating mods as we speak. That's usually the problem.

UPDATE: What the crap!? 162 files failed to validate? That's....weird. Haven't even launched the game in a month. Very weird. They downloaded really fast. Very bizarre. Let's see what happens.

UPDATE 2: Still CTD. Losing.....interest.....I hear Skyrim calling me.....can't...resist....

Update the Third: Fixed it. Must have been a stray out dated mod since the last time I played. Cleaned out my folder and only reinstalled my own mods, Idols color changer, and Shitface's NPC mod. Works like magic, unfortunately I didn't track down what mod exactly caused the problem.....but it wasn't the above, so hooray.

Really? It worked fine for me after the last update--and I was sick for a couple weeks--with only the "app already running" error happening once. And that was after I was playing for a while

I found a fix for this simply by deleting something called tweaktable.ini, not sure if it was a mod or what but it worked so
