That is the only sad thing about SR IV. What if you never even drove on the side walk, or if you played without making any casualties? (Sure, almost impossible to do, but... What if there were players doing the impossible?) Then that is all just thrown out the window and Zinyak still uses that reason to drive you to commit suicide. I think that is something Saints Row really misses. Taking past choises to the next game Mass Effect style.
BTW, did anyone else think that the whole game was a moral lesson for the boss anyway? As if she really became the Sociopath in Saints Row: The Third and in IV, everyone tries to save the Boss from becomming someone who doesn't give a fuck about other people's lives. In every "nightmare" the Boss is confronted by past events or feelings. In Asha's nightmare, they even has to fight the boss' evil twin who the boss clearly hates, yet if you look at how that Evil twin is, it's exactly who the boss was in SR 2 and TT. (Only without mustasche and goaty... Probably. xD) Ruthless, killing anyone on their path. As if they are going into a whole new direction with Saints Row V, making the Boss less of a sociopath but making them ready to save the world, as that still needs to be done.
IF I read the signs correctly, Saints Row V will take a big step back from the over the top action. And after seeing the ending, I am pretty sure there will be a Saints Row V. You awake new crew on the ship, you got a fucking time machine, ( how awesome is that?! ) and I doubt the Zin empire will just take it for granted that a Human can rule them, even if they killed Zinyak.
I can see the story already for V. The Saints steal the time machine before there is a coup within the Zin empire to go and kill the Saints anyway, and while escaping, Kinzie and Matt see no other option than to activate the machine, sending them back through time. They crash-land on earth in 1947 where World War 2 is still going on, and the Nazi's have invaded America. Clearly something is wrong, and the Saints find out Zinyak has altered time while the Saints were stuck in the Simulation, protecting them from the changes in time. So in the Fifth installment, the Saints have to correct what Zinyak has changed. They fight Nazi's with WW2 weapons and vehicles, they go futher back to 1930 for a Mob parody, further back to 1850 for a Wild West setting, and perhaps to the far future where Earth is somewhat rebuild through technology because a large group of humans actually did survive and the earth exists out of some large pieces and they created a futuristic steampunk city on those chunks that was once the Planet Earth and you get into a sci-fi setting.
Oooh, the possibillities. Add to that a Next Gen engine, and I think that game could be awesome! They really do need more parodies in the next Saints Row. More game/movie references, because it was extremely well done in SR IV.
