She/he is so misunderstood. All she/he wants to do is to save the people she/he cares about and keep the people in the city save(ish) from big bad gangs. At least, that's how I see it. =P But of course, there are alwas casualties and since it's because of her/him, they blame her/him for all the bad stuff as well, and that's what made her/him a sociopa--.. er, a puchish rogue. Anti-hero. =P

Well, Boss is, or was evil (from SrTT he start to change - I say 'he' because I use a male character), but, indeed, he is always so loyal to his friends, even when they piss him off. But his friends often don't care about him and sometimes they are cruel to him (see 'insurance fraud' missions, especially when Kinzie say 'how much abuse can you take from the virtual reality?).

The only time the boss was truely evil was when they put Jessica in the trunk of a car. That was a bit over the limit. For the rest, the boss only attacked when the boss was attacked.

On SR 1, she (I say she, cos that is my char. Not in SR1 of course, but it will be extremely confusing otherwise. xD) only did what Julius told her to do. And then Julius basically got scared of his own creation and tried to kill her. In SR2, she just woke up and saved Johnny from death row. But Stillwater was so messed up as you see in the opening trailer when you leave the menu alone for a while, you see a vid how Maero just kills a civillian for a small time robbery, the ronin cutting someone's head off in public and of course the Samedi spreading their drugs. So couldn't get much worse then that. So the Saints do what they did before. They clean up the city to protect its people. Though it seems more that they did it because they wanted power. But don't it was Johnny's idea I think to actually take action. The boss just wanted a beer. xD Then Ultor attacked them when the Saints were pretty much done, so the Saints attack back.

In SRTT, the Saints were attacked by the Morningstar and Johnny was 'killed' so they took revenge. And at Johnny's memorial service, they were attacked by Killbane and the rest of the gangs, so they attacked them back. It's always been like that, really. So I don't think they're really evil. Just anti-heroes. But yes, all the killing made the boss kinda cold hearted, so in IV she was shown that there are other ways, especially by Asha in her nightmare where the Boss fights her evil self. So as said before, I am really curious about what will happen to the boss in SR V.

I love Sr4 especially because it explores the Boss better. Since SrTT, - at least to me -, he seemed lonely. Especially considering that he becomes less sociopath when people show him appreciation. (like in the end of SrTT)
Reading what you think, I'm not the only that had this impression :D

Forget that red door! First co-op playthrough I did on launch night I made a bolt right for the blue door to get my (kinda) homie. On the second playthrough I was helping a friend with, I told him that the red does nothing but an achievement. He promptly replied "CHEEVIO" and ran like a madman for the red door.

... I can't really complain about it, I suppose. I got all the achievements for the game as of yesterday afternoon.

I chose the blue door since it was the choice I would have made since I didn't trust him. What achievement do you get from the Red door? I do not see any reference to an achievement on the list of them.

*edit, Nevermind. Apparently it is a hidden achievement as I looked on someones profile to see what the achievement was.

I went straight through the red door, I knew Zinyak was a real gentleman and would never pull out of a deal.

...

Duh I chose the blue door -.-'

To be honest, Zinyak's speech about the Boss being the worst threat holds true until you realize there have been worse person than him/her (dictators, people who started genocides and the likes). Yes, your "act of pride" has doomed Earth but you could at least justify it as "Whoa, never thought he was serious about that". So it's blue door for me, I'll take the red one for sake of achievement only.
