Removal of Coop arrow/marker

Hi,

I couldn't find any requests for this, but is it possible to remove the coop marker/arrow above the other persons head? It kind of gets in the way of screenshots, whereas the map and other HUD objects aren't too bad.

P.S. the weapon radial desperately needs a fix, it is far too in your face even if you just press 3 for a handgun... But I'm sure this has been mentioned a million times.

We asked about this in SR3, and IIRC it's built into the engine so it's not possible.
Try searching around either in the SR3 forums or the Ask Volition forum and you should be able to find the thread.

While that is true for SR3, it's possible that this is actually something that is being handled by the UI lua scripts on SR4. We tried to move a lot more of that into the lua to give the UI artists more control (and have fewer dependencies on programmers) but modders benefit from that too. I can poke someone in UI since I don't think any of them are registered on the forums.

That's a really great response! Even if a mod of this never comes to be, just hearing a staff member say they'll look around is really reassuring. Hopefully you're right and it can be edited, because while it is helpful at times to see where your partner is, it's kind of immersion breaking to have a big arrow pointing them out all the time.
 
It looks like it's still code driven. It looks like there was a compiler option for the object indicators (all those floating icons) to be driven through lua but we did not ship with it enabled. Sorry to get your hopes up.

Isn't there a hud hide cheat? Have you tried that?

I don't use cheats, so i'm not too sure, not a big fan of hiding the hud though. It's fine if you can hotkey it, for screenshots and things, but while playing it's tough if you're missing the map, health, stamina, weapon radial, things like that.

Jokes aside, yeah, if you can't wait, i'm ok to photoshop 2 or 3 of your best ones / the ones you "need" right now. :)
